Statement of Need
This course is designed to provide the tools for participants to keep current with the latest imaging technologies and integrate their new knowledge into clinical practice by presenting in-depth information on state-of-the-art techniques and promising new directions in abdominal, musculoskeletal, neuro, cardiac and pediatric imaging.
Target Audience
This course is intended for practicing radiologists and radiologic nurses, physician assistants, technologists, scientists, residents, fellows and others who are interested in current techniques and applications for advanced diagnostic imaging.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Utilize advanced MR and CT imaging techniques and protocols to accurately diagnose, stage and manage diseases of the abdomen, including liver, bowel, colon and prostate.
- Apply advanced CT techniques to accurately evaluate disorders of the pancreas.
- Evaluate indications and implement the current methods and applications for performing cardiac CT in the clinical setting.
- Evaluate indications and implement the current methods and applications for performing cardiac MR in the clinical setting.
- Optimize scan parameters and employ advanced neuroimaging for brain tumors, stroke and intracranial hemorrhage for improved diagnostic feedback.
- Implement current musculoskeletal MRI methods and applications for imaging the hip, elbow, and ankle.
- Apply advanced techniques for improved pediatric imaging of the brain, neck, chest and abdomen.
