Objectives | Program | Faculty | Accommodations | Travel | Activities | Registration
Learning Objectives
This course is intended for practicing radiologists and medical professionals such as nurses, technologists, and physician's assistants. It will review current techniques in Cardiovascular Imaging, Abdominal Imaging, Musculoskeletal Imaging, Neuroradiology, CAD, and the future of MR and CT. This program will be marketed regionally, nationally, and internationally.
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe recent advances and developing concepts of utilizing imaging informatics for radiology decision support
- Describe recent advances of computer- aided detection (CAD) for CT
- Implement current musculoskeletal MRI methods and applications for imaging the hip, shoulder, and hand/wrist
- Utilize CT, MR, and ultrasound for advanced imaging and diagnosis of the abdomen
- Implement current CT and MRI imaging techniques for liver tumors
- Utilize new techniques and optimize interpretation of pulmonary embolism, infection, and lung disease
- Implement current methods and applications for cardiovascular imaging
- Apply up-to-date imaging techniques in evaluating the brain and spine
Statement of Need
The demands placed on radiologists today continue to grow at alarming rate. The field of radiology is focused on high technology and is constantly changing and evolving. The technical progress results in newer and technically improved equipment necessitating added training in CT, MR and PET applications throughout the body. It is difficult for radiologists who image multiple areas of the body to stay current with each subspecialty, so our Diagnostic Imaging Update is structured as a comprehensive course covering advances in technology and applications for Body, Musculoskeletal, Neuro and Cardiovascular Imaging.
