July 8-11, 2008
Snake River Lodge and Spa
Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Objectives | Accreditation | Program | Faculty | Accommodations | Travel | Activities | Registration

Learning Objectives

This course is intended for practicing radiologists and medical professionals such as nurses, technologists, and physician's assistants.. It will review current state-of-the-art Body Imaging, Musculoskeletal Imaging, Pediatric Imaging and Interventional Radiology.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Utilize MDCT for imaging of the pancreas and blunt abdominal trauma
  • Discuss the role of MDCT in imaging bowel obstruction and inflammatory diseases
  • Implement current MRI methods and applications for imaging the hip, knee and shoulder
  • Optimize MRI imaging of stroke and cerebral vasculature
  • Describe the role of Interventional radiology in stroke, aortic aneurysm and hepatic tumors
  • Describe issues related to pediatric imaging of chest infections and mediastinal masses

Statement of Need

As the US population ages, the number of diseases in older patients increases, and in response the prevalence of minimally invasive procedures to detect and treat those diseases is growing rapidly. Rapid growth within the field of radiology is key and requires the constant evolution of high technology. The success of these new and developing technologies depends on excellent results, and in turn this necessitates a continuous educational need for updating the knowledge and skills of those who work in radiology practices. It can be difficult for radiologists, nurses and technologists who work with images from multiple areas of the body to stay current with each sub-specialty, so comprehensive courses are extremely valuable.
