Special Sessions on Breast MRI for Beginners and Digital Mammography and Workflow
Special Mammography Technologist Programs on FFDM and US for Mammography Technologists

Learning Objectives
This course is intended for practicing radiologists and technologists. It will review the latest information on mammography, ultrasound, MRI, screening ultrasound, core biopsy, and digital mammography. In addition, it will address issues regarding equipment, set up and performance of high quality digital mammography in a general radiology practice.
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Demonstrate methods of MRI-guided preoperative needle localization and vacuum assisted breast core biopsy
- Describe the correlation of MRI, mammography, and ultrasound findings
- Optimize Digital Mammography Interpretation
- Describe updates on Breast Ultrasound and Stereotactic Biopsy
- Explain the latest requirements for ACR Digital Accreditation
- Implement Digital Mammography set-up and performance in the workplace
- Enhance their practice through improved patient workflow strategies, archiving and retrieval, and PACS
Statement of Need
Developing and identifying the correlations between mammography, ultrasound and MRI techniques has become increasingly important for accurate biopsies and evaluating and interpreting breast cancer lesions. MRI is now being used to grade biopsies and stage its patients. Breast MRI evaluation of breast cancer and the ability to biopsy MRI-detected breast lesions, is proving to be an important tool for breast cancer screening. Its utilization is just beginning, primarily because the exam is more complicated, time-consuming and expensive. Establishing workflow programs is a difficult and arduous process, and expert opinion and guidance is needed. This course is modality and technology specific for breast cancer education and will also address issues surrounding developing and implementing Breast MRI practices.
Accreditation
The Stanford University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.Credit Designation:
Stanford University School of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 22 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsT for those attending the general session plus the Breast MRI Interpretation Pre-Session, and 18 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsT for those attending only the general session. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
In the pre-session, there are 4.0 credits in Breast MRI and 1.5 credits in Digital Mammography. In the general session, there are 15 credits in Digital Mammography, 12 credits in Breast MRI, 13 credits in Ultrasound, 3.25 credits in Stereotactic Core Biopsy, and 1.0 credit in Ultrasound-Guided Breast Biopsy.
Technologists: This course has been approved for up to 19 ARRT Category A CE credits for those technologists attending the entire general session (Thursday-Saturday).
The pre-session on Wednesday afternoon has been approved for up to 4.5
ARRT Category A CE credits for those technologists attending the entire session.

Opening its doors to the public in 2005, the five star, five diamond Wynn hotel quickly gained its reputation as a leader in quality and luxury on the Las Vegas strip. Rooms come equipped with cordless phone, fax, high speed wireless internet, and flat screen LCD televisions in the bedroom and bathroom.
Special rates of $279.00 per room per night for a Resort Room have been reserved for our conference participants. Rates are for single or double occupancy and are subject to tax. To receive this special rate, please make your reservation no later than February 1, 2008. After February 1st, rooms at our discount rates cannot be guaranteed. Rooms at these special rates have been reserved for attendees on a first-come, first-served basis and may sell out before the cut-off date.
